Bloomington PRIDE was founded in May 2013 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
To improve the lives of LGBTQ+ people of all ages by creating safe and inclusive spaces, challenging stereotypes, celebrating LGBTQ+ arts, and enriching south Central Indiana's community and culture through events and services.
Bloomington PRIDE works to achieve its mission in a number of ways—both visible and behind the scenes. Here are our top objectives for 2016:
- Providing more robust support for the Prism Youth Community, which trains both youth and adult groups on LGBTQ+ issues in Bloomington, around the state of Indiana, and across the Midwest
- Establishing a Transgender & Non-Binary Task Force to ensure more inclusive programming and resouces for underserved groups
- Creating and maintaining an LGBTQ+ resource catalog for local and national services and programs
- Raising funds to ensure Bloomington PRIDE's continued growth and sustainability
