OUR HISTORY

The PRIDE Film Festival was founded in 2003 by two Indiana University Arts Administration graduate students through a partnership with Bloomington's historic Buskirk-Chumley Theater and it was an instant success. The BCT kept the festival running as an annual event for a decade until it was incorporated into a freestanding organization.

The Bloomington PRIDE Film Festival continues to explore a wide variety of issues and situations involving the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities through live performance, lecture, public participation events, and films that express a wide range of viewpoints and feature many different personality types and situations, advocating community-wide attitudes of awareness, acceptance, and appreciation of diversity.
